SFERASOL
Sferasol solar panels are designed to produce hot water for domestic use with the help of direct and diffuse solar energy.
The spherical shape constantly has a surface exposed to the sun's rays at practically any time of day and in every season. In fact, there is always one side directly lit by direct radiation, but, unlike common flat solar panels, SFERASOL also makes the most of diffuse radiation, which during a clear day makes up 10% of total radiation, while during a cloudy day, it can reach up to 50%. Another point in SFERASOL's favour comes from radiation reflected from the ground (albedo), which is absorbed by the spherical panel. The amount involved is significant and relies on surrounding surfaces and forms.
It consequently takes full advantage of the heat from the sun even in situations that could not be resolved by flat panels due to orientation and positioning problems. energy penetrates the transparent envelope and acts on the fluid contained within the solar collector proper and in the heat exchanger, resulting in the hot water in the storage tank, built in stainless steel, vertical and cylindrical in shape, containing 150 litres of water.
Domestic use is not the only possible application for SFERASOL: seaside facilities as well as tourist resorts, such as camping sites and agrotourism that have particular needs in hot water production, make up a wide field of application for this product: further, using several SFERASOLs, swimming pool water can be efficiently heated without need of a storage tank.
To make a comparison with commercially-available systems, SFERASOL can be compared with a sun-tracking solar panel.
A 2 meters flat panel would provide the same maximum absorption and yield from 11 am to 3 pm, whereas using SFERASOL, best results are to be found from 9 am to 6 pm, ensuring constant operation during the span of the whole day.is equivalent to a constantly exposed 2.2 meters - 2.8 meters surface of traditional solar panels.
Something new under the Sun.
